Cashew-nut and the business opportunities it presents!
Among the diverse agricultural produce in Nigeria, cashew-nut tends to be one of the best if not the best for aspiring young entrepreneurs who want to start a business, as far as I knew, been brought up in rural neighborhoods. This may be well understood by those with a farming background in Nigeria.
Apart from being a grower of the cashew which offers great pecuniary benefits to the agriculturist, there are a number of ways to participate in the business which similarly deliver good money.
Without having the capital, one could start the business by reaching out to those who buy from farmers and negotiate on behalf of the distributors who in return pay commission, or you bargain your price with the distributor.
With little as small as N50000, you can start as an intermediate in the chain of distribution of the business of cashew and earn a good dividend. In every business, trustworthiness is the backbone that propels the aims, and objectives of the businessman or woman to the desired level or beyond, efficiently, and effectively as the farmers will be ready to give their goods to you to pay when you sell.
Cashew farming is good, and it's the similitude of a civil servant who after his retirement, has his savings waiting for him to retrieve, and relax to enjoy it. Actually, it took cashew trees up to three to four years before it will start generating cashew fruits, but when it turns on, then you begin to reap the benefit of your Labour.
Apparently, many youths considered farming to be dirty and business of the poor without evaluating the numerous benefit in farming, especially now that there are no job opportunities like in the 80s and available few had been hijacked by the elites. And for that reason, one needs to get it right by invest right with his time and resources in the farming business. Thanks.
